SCRA has unveiled a new sensory garden at one of our Children’s Hearing centres.

The final touches were added to the garden yesterday which is in the grounds outside our Hearing centre in Stirling. The garden has been launched during National Gardening Week.

The garden is part of our commitment to make our services and properties more accessible and welcoming to children, young people and parents/carers, particularly those with sensory needs.

The aim was to provide children, young people and families coming to Hearings with a welcoming and tranquil space.

The garden is available to anyone visiting the Hearing centre, but has some particular elements aimed at younger children.

The garden includes seating areas, plants covering all five senses, children’s welly boots filled with flowers and a sandpit set within a small picnic table. The space also includes wind chimes and a water feature.
